The Pulaski County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is a community oriented organization recently established in the area so who better to design their t-shirt logo than a Pulaski County student. The winning logo, selected by the first family to receive a home from the local chapter, was designed by Ella Howser, a Dixon High School senior.

Howser's design features the Habitat for Humanity logo on the top and a home with a cross (Habitat for Humanity is Christian based) in the window on the bottom and hearts surrounding it. Howser's design will be used on the t-shirts worn by the volunteers for the Pulaski Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity invited all of the high school students in Pulaski County to participate in the logo contest. Howser's design was selected out of 24 other entries.

A special luncheon was held on Tuesday, December 3 at the Ramada Inn in St. Robert where Howser was presented with a $100 savings bond donate4d by Mid-America Bank and Trust. Citizen's Mortgage donated the money to pay for all the volunteer t-shirts.

Groundbreaking for the chapter's first house is scheduled for December 21 at 9:00 a.m. in Waynesville. Anyone who would like to know more about Habitat for Humanity may contact the organization at 573-336-8806 or e-mail: habitat@webound.com.
